Here are some impressions:
“Talking to a local is always a more authentic experience than watching documentaries. Mr. Bashir gave in-depth insights into the cuisine, religion, festivities, monuments and entertainment of India. I now have more than ever the desire to visit the country due to his lively descriptions.”

“Inviting guests to school is always a pleasure and a crucial part of the learning process. The Indian Consul tried to explain what makes India such an amazing country and why we, as Europeans, should take a closer interest in its culture, values, and achievements.”

“I am very grateful for the visit of the Indian Consul as it gave me a deeper insight into India from the inside out. I was truly impressed by the facts about Indian culture and cuisine, especially the history behind them.
I also appreciate Mr. Bashir’s honesty, as he not only highlighted the impressive aspects of India—such as its booming economic growth, diversity, and rich history—but also spoke openly about the challenges the country is still facing, such as pollution and a lack of infrastructure.”

“The visit from the Indian Consulate was a truly interesting experience because meeting a diplomat from another country was an unusually exciting way to learn about India. His speech on the economic aspects of Indian-German relations was particularly insightful.”

“The Indian diplomat delivered his speech with passion and enthusiasm, so he managed to evoke a desire to go to an Indian restaurant.”

All in all, we have gained interesting insights and to round off our unit on India we will meet at an Indian restaurant in Augsburg next week to “taste” that diverse subcontinent.
